TopCow®
Seasonal

Pre-Calving 1 Post-Calving 2 Early Lactation 3 Mid Lactation 4 Late Lactation 5 Dry Cow 6

An all-purpose compound feed ideally formulated to fill those problematic pasture deficits.

Well suited for use from Stage 2 Post-Calving through to Stage 6 Dry Cow.

  • Delivers a combination of key nutrients to support rumen activity and the metabolic processes essential for optimal milk solids production
  • Provides a robust combination of fermentable and non-fermentable carbohydrates, rumen degradable and rumen undegraded protein, mineral rumen buffers, vitamins, essential macro and micro minerals
  • Helps maintain dry matter intake throughout most stages of the lactation cycle, especially when pasture intake is limited.

TopCow® Seasonal is formulated to help ensure low dry matter intake (DMI) does not limit milk solids production and animal welfare throughout the lactation. Throughout the course of any given season there are peaks and troughs in pasture growth. As the principle component of a cow’s ration, pasture availability often falls short of what a cow can actually consume. TopCow® Seasonal consists of a broad range of ingredients which provide a complementary combination of fermentable and structural carbohydrates along with rumen degradable protein (RDP) and rumen undegraded protein (RUP) to help fill any void.

Ensuring that DMI is not limiting throughout the lactation period is the first step in achieving high milk solids production. TopCow® Seasonal fills that demand perfectly.

What do your cows need now?

Throughout the lactation period a cow requires a good quality ration that includes fermentable and non-fermentable carbohydrates, RDP and RUP, digestible and physically effective fibre, vitamins and minerals. The sum of these components is measured as dry matter (DM).

As the lactation period progresses that quality and quantity of available pasture changes as it moves from vegetative to reproductive and back to vegetative. However, throughout these pastoral changes a cow’s requirement for good quality and adequate quantities of DM to maintain milk solids production, body condition and essential metabolic processes continues regardless.

As pasture quality diminishes through its reproductive phase or dry matter production drops through dry periods, a cow’s requirement for DM still needs to be met. Rates of post peak decline that exceed 7% month on month are a sure fire indicator that forage intake has become limiting to production.

Ensuring that a balance of carbohydrates, protein and digestible fibre are available to ensure that milk solids production is maintained without dropping body condition is fundamental right throughout mid lactation and into the dry period.

Pick your Protein

TopCow® Seasonal is available with a choice of either 12% or 16% crude protein.

Usage Rates

TopCow® Seasonal usage rates will vary according to forage availability, breed of cow, stage of lactation and milk solids production.
